Hello!
It was so great to see the fam last week
if nothing else my mission has taught me how much I love my family.
I've been studying a lot about obedience lately because at our leadership conference this thursday and frI day I am giving a training on "why obey". This conference is different than our normal leadership conferences because all of the district leaders will be there as well haha so that makes about 50 missionaries which is like half of the mission.
Why do you obey? Why do you live the word of wisdom? why do you get up for church each week? Why do you say your prayers and study your scriptures everyday?
For me it is easy to study the scriptures everyday because I'm disobedient if I don't bit if that is the only reason I read them then what will happen when I come home? A lot of the time we are the only ones holding ourselves accountable. We need to learn to want to obey because our desire is to follow the Lord. A quote frim president pratt is,"the higher law is to submit, expecting you will later understand and grow.... when we do this God's purposes will always be our priority." A great scripture for this is ephesians 6:6.
I have gained a testimony that obedience brings blessings.
A cool experience that we had this week was sister Fernandez and I were on exchanges (my trainer
) and we met this dad at a park with his kid and he was telling us how he was maybe intrestles but his wife would not be:( yesterday though sister cartwright and I were contacting around this lake right beside our house and we met this mom, she told us she was atheist but we continued to talk to her and then she called her little boy over and it was the same little boy that was with the father! She ended up inviting us over tomorrow! Hopefully it goes good! We're excited :D
I had my interview with president pratt yesterday, he said a lot of kind words:) I asked him if he's been crying at all lately and he said, "sister wood, I just cannot stop the tears from coming!" It's starting to set in that the end of their mission if coming:( but change is good and the lows are going to be amazing!
I love serving a mission it has made me more wise, more prayerful, more humble, and more confident in christ.
Love sister wood
